Tomato Bacon Hash/ Jacob is just charming

Well made a tomato bacon hash this morning, tomatoes, 8 strips of bacon cut, teriyaki or Worcestershire sauce, pepper, and fresh parsley. I thank you Nigella Lawson for such a recipe for mornings. I unfortunately ruined fried eggs, so they became scrambled eggs.

I am missing Jacob De Zoet this weekend I took it to work to read it. I am finding it to be a just charming book and question why I had to be prompted to read it by Erin.

I run 5 miles today it is nice and sunny so I am looking forward to it from here on out I start actually having long runs. I am looking forward to the challenge although I am not liking the sloshing through the snow. I would like some warmth and no snow.

Stupidity from the Tea Party

But we also know that the very founders that wrote those documents worked tirelessly until slavery was no more in the united states. and i think it is high time that we recognize the contribution of our fore-bearers who worked tirelessly, men like John Quincy Adams, who would not rest until slavery was extinguished in the country." Rep. Michele Bachmann (R - Minn)


So this piece of idiocy came out of one of our United States Representatives. Apparently Michele Bachmann knows nothing about American history or chooses to recreate an American history in which our founding fathers are gods who made no mistakes. She completely wipes away the reality that our Constitution has many provisions for slavery and that many, many of our founding fathers owned slaves and had no interest in ending slavery as an institution. Also, she wipes away the contribution of the many abolitionist that worked for may years to end slavery in the United States.  She wipes away the 600,000 Americans that died on both sides in a war fought over slavery. These unfortunate facts don't fit into her narrative of our founding fathers and perfect men that would support her cause. She also clearly does not know that there is a difference between John Adams, and his son John Quincy Adams.  John Adams founding father, John Quincy Adams second generation not a founding father.


So I am watching the State of the Union and thinking that John Beohner (R - Ohio) looks some what bored. I am usually bored out of my mind by the State's of the Union. I do have to say that I would rather look at John Beohner then Nancy Pelosi (aka Skeletor) she frightens me just a little bit. I won't lie she frightens me a lot. 


So I would also like to curse all the people who choose not to shovel their sidewalks, those bastard make it very hard to run. My run was a bit hard because not only does no one in Grand Rapids shovel a sidewalk, GR apparently does not believe in plowing roadways  so I get either way. 

Football = Insanity

I am now of the opinion that people who watch football are completely insane. Maybe it is that I could not care less about football or that I don't really like or get that into sports but this is totally ridiculous. Why exactly do people yell at the TV? And why does Todd live under the delusion that I really want to watch this.  If I hadn't eaten to much turkey I would be out in the below ZERO weather running. Seriously I would rather spend an hour in 10 degree weather than watch football.

Speaking of running I have to run 4 miles today and did I mention that it is only 10 degrees out and that this morning I got up to -15 degree weather. This is Fahrenheit people not Celsius, FAHRENHEIT! It would be excusable if it were Celsius but not Fahrenheit.

Running plan for the cold ass week ahead is
Monday - 30min easy run
Tuesday - 1 mile run/ 5min walk/ 10min run
Wednesday - 2 mile run
Thursday - 40min walk
Friday - 2 mile run
Saturday - 5mile run
Sunday - off

Yes I know Bret Farve doesn't play for Green Bay

So I am again watching News Hour on PBS. A weekend without work is ahead of me and I am happy, so happy. I have nothing planned for the weekend except for avoiding watching the Packers/Bears game. I wore Todd's Bret Farve Packer's uniform, and I will thank everyone and their brother for telling me that he no longer plays for Green Bay. Why thank you all I had no idea I have been living in a hole for the past 2 years.

So I have left my book at work which pisses me off.  I was looking forward to doing some reading this weekend. Well I will have to pick it up tomorrow. I had hoped to avoid going into work tomorrow but I will do it for the greater good, and I am now totally into The Thousand Autumns of Jacob De Zoet. It is a fantastic book so far. In that line of thought I feel like my book list will need to be expanded but I don't want to overwhelm myself. I mean I have to women who I vowed I would not read because I perceived them to be very blah blah girly. But, I do think I should put one of the sisters Bronte on my list I feel like if you are going to go out, go out big. Jane Eyre or Wuthering Heights that is the question or I could go with Anne, she never gets any respect. What to do, What to do.

Well let us see how this goes

Well I have done it. I am going to try to write a blog again.

First today was long and I am tired damn I am tired. I am really not feeling work right now maybe it is the winter and I need some sun but I just don't want to be there at all. So I am home watching PBS and News Hour and I am sorry it is also sort of boring. Todd is folding clothes right now and I would like to feel bad for not helping him right now but I just can't.

alright, so somethings I would like to do more.
1. Listen to more music.
2. Read more (I have a list of books see down below).
3. Get a suntan this summer.
4. Run the 5/3 River Bank Run 25k...I am currently training.
5. Run a 10k, and maybe 1/2 marathon. I feel like I have baled on my marathon goal too much so I am back to just a half.
